With over 1 lakh spectators expected to attend the IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, security has been significantly heightened. More than 4,000 police officers and personnel will be on duty to ensure smooth conduct and crowd control.
This enhanced security arrangement comes in the wake of previous incidents, including the World Cup final, where fans breached security and reached players on the field. To prevent such occurrences, the Crime Branch has deployed 140 specially assigned officers as "Field of Play Officers." These personnel will be stationed along the boundary lines and around the pitch area to stop any unauthorized intrusion by spectators.
Five-Tier Security Ring Around Stadium:
Outer Perimeter: Barricading and security checks on main roads leading to the stadium.
Entry Gates: Ticket verification and security screening before gate access.
Main Stadium Entrance: Metal detector screening at the primary gate.
Seating Area Checks: Additional screening before allowing fans to occupy their seats.
Internal Deployment: Around 2,000 personnel will be stationed inside the stadium for real-time monitoring and response.
