Sachin Tendulkar's witty jab: "New continent, same outcome" as India triumphs over Pakistan; Yuvraj Singh, Sehwag react with excitement

PTC News Desk: On Sunday, India escaped a fright. In their T20 World Cup group-stage match against Pakistan in New York, they prevailed by a slim margin of six runs while maintaining composure. Pakistan bounced back from being stunned by co-host USA in the Super Over in Dallas on Friday, dismissing India for 119 in 19 overs at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on another challenging pitch. But in the face of a dangerous pace attack, the 2009 winners faltered in their pursuit, reaching 113 for seven in 20 overs.

The standout bowler for India was Jasprit Bumrah, who finished with match-winning figures of 3 wickets for 14 runs in 4 overs (11 dot balls and 1 boundary). Hardik Pandya also contributed with a 2 for 24 effort.

During a certain moment in the game, Pakistan appeared to be on their way to winning their second T20 World Cup encounter against India—the first they had won in three years since that night in Dubai. With Mohammad Rizwan setting the conditions for Pakistan, they were 80 for three in 14 overs before Bumrah and Iftikhar Ahmed were defeated in an outstanding spell. Pakistan's middle-order batsmen were thus so severely restricted in the last overs that the team was only able to muster two boundaries before losing by six runs.

After Men in Blue's victory, former Indian cricketer and batting icon Sachin Tendulkar made a playful jab at Pakistan while complimenting the bowlers. However, Bumrah's former teammate Virender Sehwag was all praise for his valiant actions.

Pakistan versus India. Same outcome, another continent. While Twenty20 cricket is primarily a batting competition, bowlers are today's stars in New York. What an exciting game! Wonderful display of our beautiful game in America in a superb atmosphere. Bravo, India #T20WorldCup #INDvPAK," Sachin tweeted. In the meantime, Sehwag wrote: "Jitane waale ko Bumrah kehte hain haar se." What a wonderful spell and an extremely memorable victory in New York.

Former T20 World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh, who is also one of the tournament's brand ambassadors, believed that Rohit Sharma's masterful leadership in rotating his bowling options was the key to India's victory.

"India defeats Pakistan in an exciting low-scoring match! Rohit's masterclass in strategic @ImRo45 is evident! Because his deft use of bowlers changed the game. India's accurate assault proved too much for Pakistan's batsmen to handle. Great victory for Team India! @Jaspritbumrah93 @hardikpandya7 @imjadeja @arshdeepsinghh #INDvPAK #Cricket #TeamIndia #T20WorldCup #axarpatel Well done, @RishabhPant17.

India's next match is on Wednesday in New York against co-hosts and table-toppers USA. On Saturday in Dallas, they play their last league match against Canada.
