Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal and Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Tuesday extended wishes on Lala Lajpat Rai birth anniversary. Lajpat Rai was born on January 28, 1865, in a jain family, as a son of Urdu and Persian government school teacher Munshi Radha Krishan Agrawal and his wife Gulab Devi Agrawal, in Dhudike. In 1877, Lajpat Rai was married to Radha Devi Agrawal, with whom he had two sons, Amrit Rai Agrawal and Pyarelal Agrawal, and a daughter, Parvati Agrawal. Sukhbir Singh Badal took to twitter and wrote: "I join the nation in remembering the legendary freedom fighter & eminent scholar 'Sher-E-Punjab' Lala Lajpat Rai Ji on his birth anniversary. Lala Ji's patriotism and ultimate sacrifice for our motherland will always inspire the countrymen."
