Challenging the dismissal of the Chief Minister’s Chief Principal Secretary, Suresh Kumar, the Punjab government had filed an appeal before the Punjab and Haryana High Court on February 10 against the single bench judgment, stating that the state has the “unequivocal powers” to make contractual appointments.
After which, a division bench of the Punjab and Haryana high court stayed the single judge bench's order quashing the appointment of retired bureaucrat Suresh Kumar as chief principal secretary to Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh.
