PTC News Desk: In a recent viral video from China has captivated viewers worldwide, as it features a 13-year-old schoolboy confidently asserting that he runs a tech company with a small team of paid employees. 

This extraordinary claim has left people astounded and raised questions about how a minor can own and manage a business.


According to a report by the South China Morning Post, the video was shared by a teacher who assigned her students the task of writing about a successful classmate. To her surprise, multiple students chose the same classmate, whom they described as the owner of his own company. When the teacher asked the students to identify the classmate, they pointed to a bespectacled teenager sitting amongst them.

Inquisitive about the nature of the alleged business, the teacher questioned the boy, known as Chen, who confidently responded, "Internet technology." Chen further revealed that he employs six individuals and pays them for their work. The teacher expressed her admiration, commending his achievements.

The video quickly gained traction on Chinese social media platforms, accumulating 26 million views on Weibo and 10 million views on Douyin. However, the astonishing revelation prompted many to question how a minor could legally own and operate a business in China. Chinese regulations stipulate that an individual must be 18 years or older to establish a business.

A spokesperson from the school, quoted by the South China Morning Post, acknowledged that the boy could not be the legal head of a company due to his age. The school administration launched an investigation to obtain more information regarding the situation after the video went viral.
