Hyderabad, Telangana: Following a viral video circulating on social media, depicting a harrowing hit-and-run incident, authorities in Hyderabad, Telangana, have apprehended a truck driver, identified as Prithviraj, allegedly involved in the case.

The disturbing footage captured a speeding truck dragging a motorcycle beneath its front tire along a bustling thoroughfare, with the rider precariously clinging to the truck's side.

The incident, which unfolded on the night of April 14, prompted the motorcyclist, Abdul Majeed (60), to report the incident to the police. Majeed recounted that as he was navigating from Aramghar towards Laxmi Gardens, Champapet, around 11:45 pm, the reckless truck approached from behind and collided with his bike near Laxmi Garden.

Despite the collision causing Majeed to fall onto the roadside, the truck driver callously continued driving, attempting to flee the scene. However, vigilant bystanders on a motorcycle managed to capture the entire ordeal on their phone.

Fortunately, Majeed escaped unscathed, although his motorcycle suffered extensive damage from being dragged by the truck for a considerable distance. Subsequent investigations revealed that the same truck was involved in another collision with a car at Champapet T-Junction, raising suspicions of overspeeding as the primary cause of the incidents.

Law enforcement authorities are actively probing the matter to ascertain further details and ensure appropriate legal action against the accused driver.
