Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami re-elected SGPC chief for fourth time in a row
PTC News Desk: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has been re-elected the president of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee for the fourth time. He managed to secure 107 votes and on the other hand, Bibi Jagir Kaur pulled 33 votes. Two votes were also cancelled. In total 148 members were eligible to vote.
Meanwhile Raghujit Singh Virk has been elected as senior vice-president, Baldev Singh Kalyan as junior vice president and Sher Singh Mand has been elected as general secretary.

The general house session was started at 12 pm at Teja Singh Samundri Hall. The office bearers and other executive members have been elected unanimously, however the president has been elected through secret ballot paper.
Out of the 191 members in the general house, 170 are elected by Sikh voters during general elections, 15 are appointed through co-option, five are the current heads of Sikh temporal seats (jathedars), and one is the head granthi of the Golden Temple. It's important to note that jathedars and head granthis do not have voting rights.
