Attempt to create viral Instagram reel ends tragically; youth dies in Uttar Pradesh
PTC Web Desk: A tragic incident occurred in Uttar Pradesh when a 21-year-old man named Shivam Kumar lost his life while attempting to create a viral Instagram reel. The incident took place on Thursday evening at a Junior High School in Khairada village in Janpad Banda.
Shivam intended to perform a daring stunt by hanging upside down from a flag post on the roof of the school while raising a flag. However, the cemented pole could not withstand his weight and collapsed, causing fatal injuries to Shivam. He died on the spot.
Shivam had just picked up his father from the railway station and dropped him home before meeting with his friends, Anu and Ankit, at the school around 5 pm. The three friends then climbed to the roof of the school, where the ill-fated stunt was recorded.
Shivam's Instagram account contained numerous videos of him performing similar stunts, hanging upside down from trees and ceilings. His father, Vardani, is struggling with the sudden loss of his son. Vardani works as a labourer, while Shivam had been employed at a water pouch factory.
The officer in charge of Matoundh police station, Ram Mohan Rai, stated that no formal complaint had been lodged by the family yet. The tragic accident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers of attempting risky stunts for social media.
