Chennai man constructs Taj Mahal-inspired memorial house as tribute to late mother
PTC News Desk: Amruddin Sheikh Dawood, a businessman from Chennai, has built a breathtaking memorial house resembling the Taj Mahal to pay tribute to his late mother. The stunning structure, located in Ammaiyappan near Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, was constructed using marble imported from Rajasthan at a cost of Rs 5 crores.
After losing his father at a young age, Amruddin's mother, Jailani Biwi, took on the responsibility of managing their hardware business and raising her five children. To honor her remarkable dedication and love, Amruddin embarked on the ambitious project of constructing a Taj Mahal-inspired memorial house.

The construction process involved two years of meticulous work, with the assistance of dedicated workers. The grand unveiling of the memorial house took place on June 2, 2023, welcoming visitors of all religions to pay their respects.

Additionally, the property houses a madrasa school with ten enrolled students, providing educational opportunities to the community.
As a heartfelt gesture, Amruddin Sheikh Dawood personally prepares and serves biryani to a thousand people every Amavasya (New Moon) since the passing of Jailani Bivi, who departed on the day following Amavasi. This act of kindness further highlights the deep love and reverence Amruddin holds for his late mother.
The Taj Mahal-inspired memorial house stands as a symbol of filial devotion and showcases the enduring legacy of a remarkable woman.
