Movie tickets to cost just Rs 99 on Oct 13; know why
PTC News Desk: Moviegoers are undoubtedly going to have some fun on Friday as the tickets will be priced at just Rs 99 across the country on October 13. This comes for the celebration of National Cinema Day.
This decision was announced last month by the Multiplex Association of India for over 4,000 screens throughout India, including PVR INOX, Cinepolis, Miraj, Citypride, Asian, Mukta A2, Movie Time, Wave, M2K, Delite, and many others.
"This special occasion brings audiences of all ages together for a day of cinematic bliss, celebrating the incredible success of multiple films at the box office this year. It's a heartfelt "thank you" to all the moviegoers who contributed to this success and an open invitation to those who haven't yet returned to their local cinema," the association said.
They also mentioned that there will be "exciting" food and beverage offers. Consumers will, however, need to check the websites and social media handles of the participating cinemas for more information.
Last year, National Cinema Day made headlines around the world due to its ticket price cuts. However, unlike the international event, the price does not apply to tickets purchased for premium seating options like IMAX, 4DX, or even reclining seats in India. The price has increased from Rs 75 in the previous year when 6.5 million people went to theatres for shows that began as early as 6 a.m.
