PTC News Desk: Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Thursday launched a short film, Digital Arrest, to spread awareness about cybercrime along with the 1930 Maharashtra Cyber Anthem.

Besides Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the event was attended by several celebrities in Mumbai on Wednesday. Actors Pankaj Tripathi, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sonali Bendre, Sharad Kelkar, Javed Jaffrey and Mangesh Desai, along with singer Sunidhi Chauhan and comedian Samay Raina, were among the attendees who also contributed to the campaign.

Comedian Samay Raina was felicitated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at an event. Instead of keeping his speech completely formal, Raina used the occasion to make jokes about the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, leaving the audience and the chief minister laughing.

In a video circulating on social media, Raina can be seen asking for a biscuit shortly after Fadnavis presented him with a flower pot. His unexpected request amused everyone at the event.

During his speech, Raina thanked the organisers and joked about his long association with the Maharashtra Cyber Cell.

He said, “My relationship with the Maharashtra Cyber Cell is very old. The Cyber Cell is very active. Whether you are in the US or India, they will find you.”

Raina also joked about the Cyber Cell’s helpline number 1930, saying he had saved the number because he often receives calls from it.

He further joked that it was probably the first time the Cyber Cell had woken him up in the morning to felicitate him. Turning to CM Fadnavis, he then jokingly asked for “a biscuit,” which once again made the audience laugh.

The jokes referred to an earlier controversy involving Raina and the Maharashtra Cyber Cell. In February 2025, his YouTube comedy show India’s Got Latent came under major scrutiny after an episode featuring podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia caused widespread controversy.

Allahbadia faced criticism over an offensive question about parents and sex, following which several complaints and FIRs were filed against him, Raina and others associated with the show.
