This woman's pact with family to get rid of phone addiction goes viral

Recognising that her family members had become more engrossed in their cellphones than in each other, she initiated a unique solution. Crafting an agreement written on non-judicial stamp paper in Hindi, she established three fundamental rules to redirect their focus back to genuine human interaction.
The rules were clear and straightforward. First, as soon as her family members awakened, they were mandated to look at the sun, not their smartphones, emphasising the importance of starting the day with a real-world connection rather than a digital one.

Second, during meal times, all cellphones were to be kept away, compelling everyone to share a dining table without the distraction of screens. Lastly, a ban was imposed on using smartphones in the bathroom to discourage wasteful indulgence in watching reels, aiming to reclaim that time for more meaningful activities.
Manju Gupta revealed that her decision to create this agreement wasn't triggered by anger but by a stark realisation. She noted how her kids' obsession with online validation and 'likes' was highlighted when they avidly watched a Netflix show called 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.' This prompted her to take action, recognising that the addiction to 'likes' was eclipsing genuine family bonding.
The post detailing Manju's initiative has garnered significant attention across social media platforms. Commentators praised her approach, dubbing her "the human version of tradition, dignity, and discipline." Some lauded her as a role model, while others were curious about the consequences for violating the agreement.
