Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), February 26: Uttar Pradesh will go to the fifth phase of Assembly elections on Sunday, with voting to take place in 61 constituencies, majorly covering the eastern region of the poll-bound state. Amethi, Rae Bareli, Sultanpur, Chitrakoot, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, and Gonda are among the 61 Assembly seats spread across 12 districts. As many as 692 candidates are in the fray for the fifth phase of the election. UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who has been pitted from Sirathu assembly constituency, Congress legislative party leader Aradhana Mishra from Rampur Khas, Independent MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya from Kunda seat, and UP cabinet ministers Siddharth Nath Singh from Allahabad West, Nand Gopal Gupta Nadi from Allahabad South and Rajendra Pratap Singh alias Moti Singh are among the prominent leaders in the fray in the fifth phase. The polling will begin at 7 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. Meanwhile, the previous four phases of polling in Uttar Pradesh concluded on February 10, 13, 20 and 23 respectively. The remaining two phases of the seven-phase UP elections 2022 will take place on March 3, and March 7. Ahead of the fifth phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2022, the teachers in Varanasi geared up on Thursday to increase awareness among voters to exercise their voting right via the 'Pink Scooty rally'. The teachers of the entire district took out a Pink Scooty rally, where all the women were dressed in pink outfits and they tried to make the voters, especially women voters aware of the power of voting so that they all can come out and vote in maximum numbers.
