UP elections 2022: Akhilesh Yadav confident over victory in Purvanchal, says people will 'wipe out BJP'
Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), March 3: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday showed confidence over his victory in Purvanchal and asserted that people will "wipe out Bharatiya Janata Party" from the region.
The SP supremo also assured the development of Purvanchal if voted to power in Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2022.
While talking to reporters in Varanasi on the sixth phase of UP assembly elections, Yadav said, "I have full faith that Purvanchal will wipe out BJP. I assure the people of Purvanchal that when the Samajwadi government is formed, we will ensure the development of the region."
Earlier in the day, the SP leader termed the Uttar Pradesh polls "election of UP's future" and assured the employment opportunities for Army if the party voted to power in the state.
The polling for the sixth phase of UP Assembly elections 2022 started at 7 am on Thursday.

The 6th phase of Uttar Pradesh elections 2022 includes 57 assembly constituencies across 10 districts i.e. Gorakhpur, Balrampur, Ambedkarnagar, Maharajganj, Ballia, Basti, Deoria, Kushinagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, and Siddharthnagar.
Meanwhile, the previous phases of polling in Uttar Pradesh concluded on February 10, 13, 20, 23, and 27, respectively. The sixth phase is underway while the remaining one phase of the seven-phase UP elections 2022 will take place on March 7, respectively.
The counting of votes for the assembly elections 2022 will be done on March 10.
