Varnika Kundu wants stalking case transferred to the women judge

Vikas, the son of Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala, applied for bail on Thursday however on Friday district and sessions judge Balbir Singh ordered a stay on the arguments and issued a notice to the defence for September 11. As the prosecution moved an application to shift the case to a woman judge, the stay was ordered on the bail plea. The matter was listed in the court of additional district and sessions judge Rajnish Kumar Sharma. In reference to the UT administration’s notification that was out on February 11, 2014, any heinous crime involving a woman must be heard by a woman judge, thus the DSP (East) sought shifting the case to the special court for crime against women. The sessions judge will hear the matter on Monday after which the bail plea is likely to be heard on Tuesday. To the plea Defence Counsel Surya Prakash said, “We have no objection but the Chandigarh Police are using different ways to delay the process since the accused has already been in jail for a while.” Vikas Barala stalking case -PTC News
