Vigilance registers case against Patwari and his agent
State Vigilance Bureau, today registered a case against a revenue Patwari and his agent in a bribery case. During the trap agent Partap Singh was nabbed red handed.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Partap Singh of village Hardo Jhande, Gurdaspur district, agent of Patwari Surjeet Singh of revenue halqa Sarki, in Gurdaspur district was nabbed red handed by Vigilance team for accepting bribe of Rs. 12,000 from complainant Jagtar Singh of village Marianwala in Gurdaspur district.

The Complainant has approached the VB that the above said Patwari and his agent were demanding Rs. 15,000 for the mutation of land of his relative and the deal was struck at Rs. 12,000.

After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused Patwari’s agent was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 12,000/- from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at VB police station Amritsar and further investigations was under progress.
