Elderly Sikh man goes missing from California Gurdwara, abduction suspected
PTC News Desk: An elderly Sikh man went missing from the premises of a gurdwara in Tracy, California, USA in a suspected abduction.
Police have obtained CCTV footage in the case showing three unidentified individuals and a white SUV.
CCTV footage indicates that the three unidentified men forcibly placed Avtar Singh into the SUV before leaving the scene. Police are now examining the footages to identify the suspects. Authorities have stated that Avtar Singh’s whereabouts remain unknown. The case is being investigated from both missing person and kidnapping angles.
Avtar Singh hails from Ludhiana, India, but his family has been living in California for several years. He is reported to be 57 years old and had been working as a sevadaar at the Tracy Gurdwara Sahib for a long time. He was also residing within the gurdwara premises.
Last seen on February 17, The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office described him as about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing roughly 200 pounds, and wearing light-colored traditional Sikh clothing.
The family has filed a complaint with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, and police have launched an investigation. Authorities have shared Avtar Singh’s photograph along with an image of the white SUV on their official social media accounts, requesting information from the public.
During the investigation, surveillance footage showed a white SUV and three unidentified individuals dressed in dark clothing with the victim at approximately 2:30 pm.
