London, June 18:  A 38-year-old man of Indian origin was stabbed to death in London, marking another disturbing incident in a series of knife attacks that have occurred across the UK in recent days. These attacks have also claimed the lives of a British-Indian teenager, Grace O'Malley Kumar, and a 27-year-old student from Hyderabad, Tejaswini Kontham.

Aravind Sasikumar was discovered with knife wounds on June 16 when authorities responded to a call at a residential property on Southampton Way, Camberwell, according to a statement by the Metropolitan Police. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene at 1:31 am on Friday.

On Saturday, June 17, Salman Salim, a 25-year-old resident of Southampton Way, was charged with murder. He appeared in Croydon Magistrates' Court on the same day and was remanded in custody until his appearance at the Old Bailey on June 20.

Sasikumar's family has been notified and is receiving support from detectives of the Met's Specialist Crime Command, as reported by the Evening Standard newspaper on Sunday. A post-mortem examination conducted on Friday confirmed that Sasikumar died as a result of stab wounds to the chest.

A spokesperson for the police stated, "Upon arrival, officers discovered a man in his 30s with stab injuries. Despite medical intervention, the man unfortunately passed away at the scene. Specially trained officers are providing support to his next of kin."

The London Ambulance Service dispatched multiple resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, medics in two fast response cars, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer, and a trauma team from London's Air Ambulance, consisting of a paramedic and a doctor. Despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Harriet Harman, Member of Parliament for Camberwell and Peckham, condemned the incident as a "horrific murder" and extended her deepest sympathies to the grieving family.

This incident follows a series of knife attacks that have occurred across the UK in recent times. British-Indian teenager Grace O'Malley Kumar, aged 19, and 27-year-old Tejaswini Kontham from Hyderabad lost their lives in separate incidents.

On June 14, Kontham was fatally stabbed at a residential property in Neeld Crescent, Wembley, located in north London. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder.

On the same day, Kumar was tragically killed in a knife attack while returning from a night out with her friend Barnaby Webber, who shared her passion for cricket.

These incidents have highlighted the pressing issue of knife crime in the UK, prompting concerns among the public and authorities alike. Efforts to address and prevent such acts of violence continue to be a priority to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.
