Iran twin blast: In a devastating turn of events, more than 100 killed, scores injured in a series of terrorists attack during a ceremony in Iran commemorating the late commander Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in 2020.
The fatal blast unfolded during an anniversary event held at the cemetery in the southeastern city of Kerman, near grave of late general Qasem Soleimani.

Qasem Soleimani was an Iranian military commander and Major General in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He played a vital role in shaping Iran's military strategy, particularly through his leadership of the Quds Force.
Soleimani rose to the prominence for his involvement in various regional conflicts, including the Iraq-Iran war, supporting Shiite militias in Iraq.
In 2020, Soleimani was killed in a argeted U.S. drone strike near Baghdad International Airport. The airstrike escalated tensions between the United States and Iran, leading to increased military activities in the region.
