Massive explosion rocks chemical plant in China's Shandong, over 200 firefighters deployed
PTC News Desk: A massive explosion has rocked a chemical plant in China's Shandong province on Tuesday. The blast occurred at Gaomi Youdao Chemical Co., located in an industrial park in Weifang city.
There are no reports of casualty so far while the rescue operation is underway.
As son as the incident unfolded, China Ministry of Emergency Management deployed a rescue team comprising specialists including firefighters, medical experts, and safety officials — to assist in the rescue operations. More than 230 firefighters have been deployed to the scene.

According to the company register records, the plant manufactures pesticides and chemicals used for medicines which has employed over 500 individuals.
The explosion was so strong that it shattered windows at a warehouse more than three kilometres from the factory. A local resident, said his home shook from the blast and he saw a large column of black smoke rising from the site, even though he lived more than seven kilometres away.
Several videos of the incident have been doing rounds on social media showing thick black smoke rising from the area.
