UAE denies rumours of lifetime golden visa for Indians, warns against fraudulent claims

PTC Web Desk: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially dismissed widespread rumours suggesting that Indian citizens are eligible for a lifetime Golden Visa. In a clear statement, the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) confirmed that no such provision exists for "certain nationalities" as claimed in recent foreign media reports.

The statement, shared via the Emirates News Agency (WAM) and verified by the ICP on its official Instagram handle, emphasised that all Golden Visa applications must be submitted through official government portals.

"The application process is managed solely by UAE government entities, and no internal or external consultancy is authorised to process Golden Visa requests," the ICP clarified.

Earlier this week, several media outlets reported that citizens of India and Bangladesh could allegedly secure a lifetime UAE Golden Visa for a fee of AED 100,000 (approximately Rs 23.3 lakh). The now-debunked reports quoted unnamed “beneficiaries” and individuals claiming to be involved in the visa process.

The ICP strongly condemned the spread of misinformation and warned that legal action would be taken against individuals and entities attempting to mislead the public or collect money through fraudulent schemes.

The authorities have urged residents and prospective applicants to refrain from relying on unauthorised intermediaries and to verify all visa-related information through the UAE's official portal: www.icp.gov.ae or by calling 600522222.

The UAE's Golden Visa programme allows long-term residency for investors, skilled professionals, and exceptional talent. However, there is no provision for a lifetime visa for any nationality at present, reiterates the ICP.
