Indian shooter Saurabh Chaudhary sets junior world record! Wins Gold!

Indian shooter Saurabh Chaudhary sets junior world record! Wins Gold! Saurabh Chaudhary produced an Asian Games record score of 240.7 to clinch the gold medal in Men’s 10m Air Pistol final at the Asian Games 2018 on Tuesday. Abhishek Verma won the bronze with a score of 219.3. Earlier, It was a brilliant performance by the 16-year old Chaudhary as he topped the qualification round with a score of 586. Abhishek Verma was also consistent in his showing as he qualified in the sixth position with a score of 580.

It is India's first shooting Gold in the current edition of the Games. With this gold, India has take its gold medals tally to three with earlier gold medals coming in wrestling through Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat.
For Saurabh Chaudhary it was probably his first major sporting event where he competed with top shooters of the world, including medallists from Olympics. He kept his calm in the final shoot out to overcome his more experienced opponent T. Masuda, who till last shot, had occupied drivers seat.
For Abhishek verma, it was his second bronze medal in the Games as he paired with Apporva Chandela in the mixed team event to win India's first medal of the Games.
Vinesh Phogat on Monday became the first Indian woman wrestler to win an Asian Games gold after she defeated Japan's Yuki Irie in the 50 kilogram women's Freestyle final. This was India's second gold after wrestler Bajrang Punia bagged one in men's 65kg on Sunday.
