Two-month-old boy dies due to coronavirus in Jaipur

A 2-month-old toddler hailing from Agra died due to coronavirus at the SMS Hospital in Jaipur in the wee hours of Thursday. Meanwhile, the death toll has increased to 122 in Rajasthan since March. The infant, who passed away of co-morbidity and congenital heart disease, was brought to Jaipur on Wednesday, the Medical and Health Secretary (ACS) Rohit Kumar Singh said. This is the second case of infant death due to the novel coronavirus, a report suggested. Earlier, a 20-day-old boy had died due to the virus at JK Lone Hospital on May 1. So far, around 177 migrants have tested positive for Covid-19 in the bordering districts adjoining Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Since Wednesday, the coronavirus tally has increased to 4,394 with 66 new coronavirus cases recorded in the state-run hospitals. Udaipur has recorded 20 cases, Nagaur recorded 16 and Jaipur 13. 7 new cases were reported in Jodhpur, 3 in Sikar, two each in Jalore and Ajmer, and one each in Kota, Alwar and Karauli. There have been 65 deaths in Jaipur, followed by 17 in Jodhpur, 10 in Kota 10, 5 in Ajmer, 3 each in Nagaur and Pali, 2 each in Alwar, Bikaner, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Sikar and Chittorgarh, and one each in Jalore, Churu, Karauli, Banswara, Pratapgarh, Sawaimadhopur and Tonk. -PTC News
