99% seats taken in Punjab meritorious schools after gap of 2 years
Chandigarh, August 16: Punjab’s 10 meritorious schools of Amritsar, Bathinda, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, SAS Nagar, Patiala, Sangrur and Talwara, witnessed significant rise in admission after pitiable Corona period that lasted about two years.

Due to lockdown during Covid, schools did not open due to which there was lack of admission in schools and most of the seats were vacant.In this year 2022, there was a big jump in the admission of students in the meritorious schools of Punjab.
There were a total of 4,600 seats for class 11th and 12th, out of which 4,579 seats have been filled.
The admission in 99% seats for the session 2022-23 has caught the school staff as well as the education department and the general public by a surprise.
Recently, the admission process was completed in 10 meritorious schools across the state in 5 days of counseling in 22 centers of Punjab.
A total of 4,579 students took admission in them.
It may be mentioned that thousands of seats remained vacant in these schools in the last two years due to the Covid pandemic.
Meritorious schools are located in Amritsar, Bathinda, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, SAS Nagar, Patiala, Sangrur and Talwara.
