2,400-plus liquor bottles seized in Mohali

The Punjab Excise Department seized 2,448 bottles of liquor on Sunday in Mohali. All the seized bottles were without hologram seal on them. The excise department’s mobile wing seized 24 cartons of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL). The boxes were being smuggled into Mohali.

The excise department intercepted a truck on the Kharar-Morinda road. They alerted the Gharuan police post. The driver ran through the checkpoint, but the police chased him down. The police then searched the truck and found 204 cartons with 2,448 bottles of liquor. Those bottles were without the mandatory hologram.

The truck had 1,092 bottles of Power Star and 1,176 bottles of Rajdhani whiskey of Jubilee Special country liquor. They all were for sale in Chandigarh.

Mohali 2,400-plus liquor bottles seized in Mohali

Assistant excise and taxation commissioner (AETC) Paramjit Singh briefed the media that it was the 12th liquor haul seized by the team.
