Another SpiceJet flight makes priority landing after windshield cracks

New Delhi, July 5: A SpiceJet flight from Gujarat's Kandla made a priority landing in Mumbai on Tuesday after its outer windshield developed crack mid-air, the airline said in a statement. This is the second SpiceJet incident of the day. Earlier on Tuesday, a Dubai-bound SpiceJet aircraft had to divert to Karachi airport after suspected fuel leakage. According to officials, the Kandla-Mumbai SpiceJet flight was at 23,000 feet altitude when the windshield's outer pane cracked. DGCA imposes Rs 10 lakh fine on SpiceJet for training pilots on faulty  simulator "During cruise at FL230, P2 side windshield outerpane cracked. Associated non-normal checklist actions were carried out. Pressurization was observed to be normal. Priority landing was carried out and aircraft landed safely at BOM (Bombay)," the airline said. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered a probe into the two incidents which took place on Tuesday, along with the previous five incidents, the officials added.
