Captain Amarinder Singh likely to meet PM Modi, Amit Shah in Delhi

Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh left for Delhi and is likely to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Wednesday.

Confirming the news, BJP leader Harjit Grewal said that Captain Amarinder Singh is set to meet Amit Shah and is also likely to meet PM Narendra Modi.

Earlier, former Punjab Chief Minister met Union Home Minister on September 29. Likewise, he tweeted: "Met Union Home Minister @AmitShah Ji in Delhi. Discussed the prolonged farmers' agitation against #FarmLaws & urged him to resolve the crisis urgently with the repeal of the laws & guarantee MSP, besides supporting Punjab in crop diversification."

Amid speculations of him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party, he had said that neither he will join BJP nor he will remain in Congress.

Also, Captain Amarinder Singh had met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in Delhi, a day after he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on September 29.

It may be recalled that Captain had resigned as Punjab Chief Minister on September 18, 2021, citing 'humiliation' from the Congress high command.
