Cold waves intensified in North India as the temperature dropped at several places.
According to the Indian Metrological Department (IMD), Chandigarh, capital of Punjab and Haryana recorded the season’s coldest night at 3.4 degrees Celsius. This temperature is two degrees below the normal.

In Punjab, Adampur was the coldest place in Punjab and Haryana with a low of 0.4 degrees Celsius. Also, dense fog disrupted the normal life in the region.
In Himachal Pradesh, despite clear and sunny weather, spine-chilling cold is being experienced during the day. Kalpa and Manali received fresh snowfall. Kullu district administration has issued a warning for the tourists and locals ahead of the bad weather. The administration warned them not to trek or go to the higher places of the district.

IMD told that with continuing snowfall in the hill state, chilly winds continue to sweep Uttar Pradesh’s capital. The minimum temperature in Muzaffarnagar was recorded at 1.0-degree Celsius.

In Delhi, the minimum temperature further dropped to 3.4 degrees Celsius. According to IMD, the cold conditions are likely to continue in these states for the next few days.
