Ferozepur : ASI caught red handed by Punjab Vigilance while taking bribe

Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Wednesday nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) posted at EOW Police Lines, Ferozepur red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 7,000.

An official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Kulwant Chand was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Sukhwinder Singh . The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused ASI was demanding Rs 15,000 to help him a  complaint case and the deal was struck at Rs. 12,000.

After verifying his information, the vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI was arrested on the spot while taking bribe of Rs. 12,000 as a first instalment from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused and further investigation was under progress.
