Girl dead, 8 injured as SUV rams into several vehicles in outer Delhi

A 16-year-old girl died and eight others were injured on Wednesday after an SUV lost control and rammed into multiple vehicles in Paschim Vihar, New Delhi. The SUV driver lost control and hit a motorcycle, a scooty, a rickshaw, a minibus before bringing his vehicle to a halt.

The girl was a pedestrian and died on the spot following the collision of vehicles and eight others, including the SUV driver, were injured. The injured were rushed to the hospital. The passerby also helped the injured and also called the police.

The SUV driver has been identified as Kamal Kumar. He was a retired professor of Hansraj College, Delhi University. Police is yet to question him and will ascertain if was drunk.

Police told the media sources that they have recovered CCTV footage. They will be checking the footage to understand what exactly happened.
