According to sources, amid the Punjab Congress crisis, Harish Chaudhary has been coordinating between new Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Channi and Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu, after the latter tendered his resignation from the post earlier this week.

On the other hand, former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and Harish Rawat are also at loggerheads. Captain Amarinder Singh, who resigned as Punjab Chief Minister on September 18, had said he felt “humiliated” by the actions of the Congress leadership.

However, Harish Rawat on Friday questioned Captain Amarinder Singh’s “humiliated” remark and said no facts suggested that the former Punjab Chief Minister was "insulted by the Congress".

He alleged Captain Amarinder’s "closeness" to some BJP leaders and said the former Punjab Chief Minister was acting under the BJP pressure.

Taking strong exception to Harish Rawat’s remark, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Friday rejected his claims and said the Congress had lost its base in the state now.
