Indian-Origin executive to head Facebook's tool for office communication
Facebook on Wednesday announced that their Indian-origin Senior Executive, Karandeep Anand, will now head company’s giant enterprise communications tool, named ‘Workplace.’ Facebook told the media sources that it is excited that Karandeep would be joining 'Workplace' as its new head. The new role is effective immediately.

Karandeep Singh will handle the product team of ‘Workplace’. The team includes engineers, data scientists, developers and researchers. He was earlier heading 'Product for Facebook Marketplace and Payments services' department.

He wrote on his LinkedIn profile, “I'm excited to now be part of the journey of bringing Workplace to companies across the globe and help them unlock the potential of their biggest asset – people. A company's culture is a leading indicator of its success and the productivity of its workforce. Workplace brings the power of shaping culture by connecting people at work in ways never imagined before.”
Before joining Facebook, Karandeep used to work with Microsoft for 15 years. He took over many key roles back in Microsoft.

Facebook launched ‘Workplace’ back in 2016. It helps companies to be more connected with their employees. It allows video chatting, file sharing and screen sharing among co-workers.
The workplace is the fastest growing software-as-a-service (SaaS) product. Currently, more than 30,000 organisations like Walmart, Spotify, Reliance Group, Lyft and Heineken are using this product.
