Jammu and Kashmir encounter: SAD mourns death of 5 Army men, including 3 from Punjab

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday expressed condolences over the death of five Army men, including three from Punjab, in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement issued here, SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal said the news of the encounter in Jammu and Kashmir had shocked every Indian, particularly Punjabis, as the nation had lost five brave soldiers.

Sukhbir Singh Badal said, "As is always the case, Punjabis are always in the forefront in making the supreme sacrifice for the nation with three out of the five martyrs belonging to Punjab."

The SAD president expressed condolences to the families of Naib Subedar Jaswinder Singh of Mana Talwandi Distt, Kapurthala, Naik Mandeep Singh Chalha of Gurdaspur district, Sepoy Gajjan Singh Panchranda, Ropar distrit, Sepoy Saraj Singh Akhtyarpur of Uttar Pradesh and Sepoy Vaisakh Odanavattam of Kerala.
