Jammu and Kashmir: Major infiltration bid foiled in Macchal Sector, One soldier injured

While India is busy with the resolution revoking Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, a major infiltration bid foiled in Macchal Sector of J&K at around 2:30 AM on Tuesday. As per Indian Army, 5-6 terrorists infiltrated 500m into Indian territory and started firing on the security forces, to which Indian Army retaliated. In an exchange of fire one soldier injured and evacuated. The incident comes a day after the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Bill 2019, The Jammu & Kashmir Reservation (Second Amendment) Bill 2019 was passed in the Rajya Sabha.

Currently, The Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Bill 2019, The Jammu & Kashmir Reservation (Second Amendment) Bill 2019 is tabled in the Lok Sabha. Meanwhile, Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in Jammu and Kashmir, where even mobile services are suspended. For now, the Jammu and Kashmir have been made the Union Territory with Legislative Assembly, while Ladakh is made the Union Territory without Legislative Assembly.

Recently, the Government sources said that there is peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir. In fact, it said, it has been an event free, no agitations held. People also moving about for essential work. The proceedings of the Lok Sabha is still underway.
