KV Subramanian steps down as govt's Chief Economic Adviser

Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India Krishnamurthy Venkata Subramanian on Friday announced that he is stepping down from his post, following the completion of his three-year tenure

"I've decided to return back to academia following the completion of my three-year fulfilling tenure as CEA, GoI," he said in a statement. He took over from Arvind Subramanian who had left due to personal reasons in June 2018.
Krishnamurthy Venkata Subramanian holds an MBA and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in financial economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His PhD was completed under the supervision of former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan. He is also an alumnus of the IIT, Kanpur, where he studied electrical engineering, as well as Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

Subramanian said he had received tremendous support from the government and had been fortunate to enjoy a warm relationship with senior functionaries.
