18 Punjab Police officials to be honoured with Presidents medal on Republic Day

While congratulating the awardees, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav expressed gratitude to the Central Government for recognizing the services of these officers and boosting the morale of the entire police force in Punjab.

PTC News Desk: The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the names of 18 officers from Punjab Police, who will be honoured with the President's Medal on Republic Day. Among them, three officers will receive the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service, while 15 will be awarded the medal for Meritorious Service. 


Apart from police officials, former Punjab DIG Inderjit Sidhu, who resides in Chandigarh, will also be honoured with the Padma Shri in recognition for his social service. He has been honoured for his selfless contribution in keeping the city clean. 



On Republic Day 2026, Chandigarh IG Pushpendra Kumar and Inspector Jasbir Singh will also receive the President’s Medal.


Additionally, on this occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will hoist the national flag in Hoshiarpur, while Governor Gulab Chand Kataria will unfurl the tricolour in Fazilka.

Lakshmee Kant Yadav, IPS, Director, BOI, Punjab

Arun Pal Singh, IPS, ADGP, Jails, Punjab


Police Medal for Meritorious Service (MMS) awarded to:

DIG Jasdev Singh Sidhu, AIG Randeep Singh Mann, DSP Rajan Parminder Singh, DSP Navdeep Singh, ACP Sapinder Kaur, DSP Harinderdeep Singh & 9 more officers.
