The incident:

The fatal attack happened minutes after school ended for the day. As Nayan stepped out of the building, he was surrounded by the Class 8 boy and a few others. What started as a verbal spat quickly turned violent when the younger student pulled out a knife and stabbed Nayan.

CCTV footage shows Nayan clutching his stomach wound and stumbling back into the school before collapsing. He was rushed to a private hospital, but doctors could not save him.

Meanwhile, the accused fled to the back of the school building but was spotted by the security guard. The school administration and police were alerted, and the boy was soon detained.

The police have registered an FIR and confirmed that the juvenile has been booked under the Juvenile Justice Act. The shocking incident has raised serious questions on student safety and prompted angry demonstrations from parents.
