The accused, identified as Dr Manish Gupta, a dermatologist in his fifties, was found at the crime scene when the police arrived following a distress call from a neighbour. Authorities said the neighbour alerted the police after noticing a woman lying motionless in a pool of blood.

The victim, identified as 45-year-old Meena, worked as a domestic helper at the doctor's residence. According to investigators, police teams rushed to the house and discovered the woman's body inside the premises.
