PTC Web Desk: Panic erupted near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening after a car exploded, causing widespread damage and chaos. The explosion was so powerful that a part of the vehicle landed near the Lal Mandir close to the Red Fort. The blast shattered windows of the temple and damaged doors and windows of several nearby shops. Multiple casualties have been reported.
Immediately following the explosion, fires broke out in nearby shops, buses, and other vehicles. Tremors from the blast were felt as far as the Bhagirath Palace area in Chandni Chowk, with shopkeepers calling each other to check on the situation. This is not the first time Delhi has witnessed such incidents; the city has a history of bomb blasts spanning decades.
