The tragedy came to light after the bodies were discovered inside a 10-foot-deep water storage tank located in the courtyard of the family's farmhouse.
Neighbours rushed to help
The tank had reportedly been filled after the day's water supply. On noticing the incident, neighbours pulled the woman and the two children out of the tank. However, all three had already drowned before they could be rescued.

Jyoti was a Class IV student, while Vineet studied in Class III at the village school. The police said statements from Sudesh's parental family will also be recorded to understand the circumstances leading to the deaths. Officials said the investigation is underway and further action will depend on the post-mortem findings and statements from family members.
