New Delhi, December 19:  Today, the Opposition INDIA bloc is convening a pivotal meeting in Delhi amidst the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament, marking a critical juncture as 92 MPs from various Opposition parties face suspension from the House – the largest such expulsion during a single session.

The agenda of this gathering includes multifaceted discussions on seat allocation, collaborative campaign strategies, and the formulation of a robust plan to challenge the BJP in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Following recent electoral setbacks in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, the bloc is poised to strategize and address the way forward. Notably, a total of 92 MPs from diverse Opposition groups encountered suspension from parliamentary proceedings, with a staggering 78 members – comprising 33 from Lok Sabha and 45 from Rajya Sabha – facing suspension in a single day, setting an unprecedented record.

These suspensions stem from the MPs' participation in protests and vocal demonstrations regarding the Lok Sabha security breach incident that occurred on December 13.
