PM Modi lauds Indian soldiers as Monsoon session of Parliament begins

Ahead of the Monsoon session of the Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday praised the Indian soldiers deployed at the borders, saying that said the entire nation and every parliamentarian is standing with them.

"I believe that all members of the Parliament will give an unequivocal message that the country stands with our soldiers," he added.

The Prime Minister said that "Parliament session is beginning in distinct times. There's Corona and there's a duty. MPs chose the path to duty. I congratulate and express gratitude to them."

PM Modi added that "This time Rajya Sabha-Lok Sabha will be held at different times in a day. It'll be held on Saturday-Sunday too. All MPs accepted this."

He further said that "Jab tak dawai nahi tab tak koi dhilai nahi. We want that a vaccine to be developed at the earliest from any corner of the world, our scientists succeed and we succeed in bringing everyone out of this problem."

Meanwhile, the MPs paid tribute to ex-President Pranab Mukherjee, legendary Indian classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj, ex-Chhattisgarh CM Ajit Jogi, MP Governor Lalji Tandon, UP Ministers Kamal Rani, and Chetan Chauhan and ex-union minister Rahguvansh Prasad Singh and others who passed away this year.

The entry of ex-MPs/MLCs/MLAs/personal secretaries/personal assistants/family members/personal guests and visitors accompanying MPs have been restricted inside the Parliament House till further orders, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Lok Sabha Secretariat said that "In a first-of-its-kind initiative, MPs register their attendance using the 'Attendance Register' App."
