Rajasthan BJP Government: 12 MLAs sworn in as Cabinet ministers

PTC Web Desk: Former Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and senior BJP leader Kirodi Lal Meena were among the 12 MLAs sworn in as Cabinet ministers in the BJP-led government in Rajasthan, under the leadership of Bhajan Lal Sharma, on Saturday. Besides, 10 ministers of state were also inducted into the Rajasthan Government during a ceremony at the Raj Bhawan. The oath of office was administered by Governor Kalraj Mishra to the newly appointed ministers.

The MLAs joining the Rajasthan Cabinet include Meena, Rathore, Madan Dilawar, Gajendra Singh Khimsar, Babulal Kharadi, Jogaram Patel, Suresh Singh Rawat, Avinash Gehlot, Joraram Kumawat, Hemant Meena, Kanhaiya Lal Choudhary, and Sumit Godara.

Sanjay Sharma, Gautam Kumar Dak, Jhabar Singh Kharra, Surendra Pal Singh, and Heeralal Nagar took oath as ministers of state (independent charge).

Otaram Dewasi, Manju Baghmar, Vijay Singh Choudhary, K K Vishnoi, and Jawahar Singh Bedham were appointed ministers of state.

Kirodi Lal Meena, a six-time MLA representing the Sawai Madhopur Assembly seat, has also served as a Lok Sabha MP and Rajya Sabha MP. Gajendra Singh Khimsar, a four-time MLA representing the Lohawat constituency of Jodhpur district, is also a former minister.

Rajasthan

Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, a former Union minister and two-time Lok Sabha MP from Jaipur Rural, won from the Jhotwara Assembly seat. He is an Olympic medalist and former Army officer, serving as a first-time MLA.

Babulal Kharadi, a four-time MLA representing the Jhadol Assembly seat of Udaipur, and Madan Dilawar, a six-time legislator from Ramganj Mandi, have also served as former ministers.

Suresh Singh Rawat, a three-time MLA from Pushkar, has previously been a parliamentary secretary.

Avinash Gehlot represents the Jaitaran seat of Pali district, while Joraram Kumawat represents the Sumerpur seat of Pali, both serving as two-time MLAs.

Hemant Meena, a first-time MLA from Pratapgarh, is the son of former minister Nandlal Meena, and Kanhaiya Lal Chaudhary represents Malpura (Tonk) as a three-time MLA.

Sumit Godara, a second-time MLA representing Lunkaransar in Bikaner district, is also among the cabinet ministers.

Ministers of State Sanjay Sharma, Gautam Kumar Dak (Badi Sadri), Jhabar Singh Kharra (Srimadhopur), and Heeralal Nagar (Sangod) are all two-time MLAs.

Surendra Pal Singh, a former minister and BJP candidate from Karanpur, was also inducted as a minister of state (independent charge). Elections in the Assembly segment will be held on January 5.

Otaram Dewasi, a three-time MLA from the Sirohi constituency, previously served as the minister of state in the former BJP government led by Vasundhara Raje.

Manju Baghmar, representing the Jayal seat of Nagaur district, and MoS Vijay Singh Chaudhary from Nawan (Nagaur) are also appointed ministers. K K Vishnoi (Gudhamalani) and Jawahar Singh Bedham (Nagar) are first-time MLAs.

The Assembly elections were held on November 25 for 199 out of 200 assembly seats in the state. The BJP secured 115 seats, while the Congress won 69. Bhajan Lal Sharma took oath as the chief minister on December 15, appointing Diya Kumari and Premchand Bairwa as deputy chief ministers.
