Bathinda: Security beefed-up ahead of Republic Day 2023, police raids several PGs

Bathinda, January 18: Punjab police swung into action on Tuesday night in view of the flag hoisting ceremony by Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Mann in Bathinda on January 26. To ensure security check, the Paying Guest House located on Ajit Road was checked by the Bathinda Police in a major operation.

The police raided the paying guesthouse last evening. A large number of police personnel including two DSPs and SHOs of three police stations arrived and verified the boys and girls living in these PGs. On this occasion, DSP Heena Gupta said that strict security arrangements have been made by the Punjab Police since January 26, they are also verifying the boys and girls living in these PGs so that people with criminal background or similar tendencies do not take shelter in such accommodations.

Along with this, the paying guest house owners have been strictly instructed to get their paying guest houses registered so that they can have a record of the same.
