Kuldeep Singh Chahal relieved as Chandigarh SSP with immediate effect

Chandigarh, December 13 : UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit relieved Kuldeep Chahal, IPS (Punjab 2009 batch), from the post of senior superintendent of police (SSP) Chandigarh.

 SSP (traffic/security) Manisha Chaudhary was given additional charge of SSP (UT).

Notably, Chahal was appointed as SSP Chandigarh on October 2, 2020 on deputation. He has been relieved prematurely as his deputation tenure of three years was yet to be completed. 

SSP Chahal’s has been one of the shortest tenures of IPS officers of Punjab cadre in Chandigarh.


The order issued by Chandigarh Administration's Home Department reads, "The Administrator UT, is pleased to relieve Kuldeep Singh Chahal, SSP UT, from the Chandigarh Administration/Police with immediate effect to enable him to join new assignment with Government of Punjab.”
