Lawrence of Punjab row: Notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has sent threatening messages to several top leaders of Punjab including former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randawa, PPCC chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and senior SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia against the release of the documentary “Lawrence of Punjab.”

Randhawa said that he has complained to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, who is also among the targets, about the threat.

Several prominent figures, including Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, and late singer Sidhu Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh, received these threats via WhatsApp.

The messages express anger over the ban on the documentary and warn of serious consequences.

The threatening message follows Centre's notice to OTT platform ZEE5 halting the release of controversial web series 'Lawrence of Punjab' citing glorification of gangsters and wrong portrayal of Punjab in the series.

Given the seriousness of the matter, security agencies are on alert and investigating the case. The Punjab Police is also carrying out a technical probe to trace those behind the messages.
