Punjab crime: Woman helper murdered in broad daylight at anganwadi centre in Lambi

Punjab news: In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old woman working as a helper at an anganwadi centre was brutally murdered in broad daylight in Fatehpur Manianwala village of Lambi on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Ramanpreet Kaur, who had gone to the anganwadi centre to perform her daily duties when the crime took place. According to police officials, the incident came to light after 9 am, following which teams rushed to the spot and began an investigation.


A senior police officer stated that the matter is being probed thoroughly from all angles. Initial findings confirm that the victim was killed mercilessly inside the anganwadi centre. Statements of the victim’s husband are being recorded and further legal action is underway.

Family members, including the victim’s brother Harjinder Singh and her husband, said Ramanpreet had left home for work in the morning, and shortly afterwards, they were informed about her murder. They claimed to have seen a video of the suspect but said the accused was not known to the family.

The family has urged the police to swiftly arrest the culprit and ensure justice. Ramanpreet Kaur is survived by her two children.
