Punjab: BSF shoots down Pakistani drone in Amritsar

Chandigarh, November 29: Continuing the crackdown on terror activities, the Border Security Force (BSF) shot down another drone that entered from Pakistan in Punjab’s Amritsar district falling near Village – Chaharpur.

The BSF troops deployed at the border heard a buzzing sound of a suspected drone entering from Pakistan into Indian territory in the area falling near Chaharpur in Amritsar. The troops tried to intercept the suspected drone by firing, following which the bullet hit the drone and it fell on the ground. The area was cordoned off and police and other concerned agencies were immediately alerted. 


During the search operation, BSF recovered 1 Hexacopter in partial damaged condition along with suspected item in white colour polyethene attached underneath lying in a farming field on own side of border fencing near village. 

Earlier, on November 26, an intrusion bid was foiled by a BSF party from BOP Faraipur under Pathankot. The security personnel observed two intruders coming near the border after which BSF troops fired shots at them.
