Punjab cops body recovered from Lohand Khad near Kiratpur Sahib, was swept away while rescuing relative
The body of Punjab Police constable Salman Khan, alias Ladi, who was swept away while trying to save his brother-in-law in Lohand Khad near Kiratpur Sahib , has been recovered by SDRF after an intensive search operation
PTC Web Desk: The body of a Punjab Police constable who went missing after being swept away in the strong current of Lohand Khad near Kiratpur Sahib has been recovered following an intensive search operation by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
The deceased has been identified as Salman Khan, popularly known as Ladi, who was posted at Division No. 7 Police Station in Ludhiana.
According to officials, Salman Khan had come to Anandpur Sahib and Mata Naina Devi with his family on a religious visit. While returning, the family stopped near Lohand Khad. During the visit, his brother-in-law got caught in the strong flow of water while bathing.

The SDRF team from Jalandhar carried out a continuous search operation under the supervision of Sub-Inspector Deepak Kumar. After several hours of efforts, the body was recovered from the river, nearly 1.5 km downstream from the spot where the incident occurred.
SHO Rahul Sharma said proceedings under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure are being carried out. The body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem examination.
