Punjab and Haryana High Court scraps mining policy of Punjab
Punjab and Haryana High court scraped the Punjab State Sand and Gravel Mining Policy-2018 on Tuesday. The High Court further directed the Punjab government to form a new policy within 3 months and to allot a new mining tender under it.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court on December 20 stayed proceedings on the basis of the scheme and e-notice for auction of mines, just two months after the policy was formed.

The directions came after a petition was filed in public interest by senior advocate Gagneshwar Singh Walia against the state government and other respondents for quashing the policy. Directions were also sought for quashing e-auction notice dated October 31.
